FAIRHOPE 11, FAITH ACADEMY 5: Garrett Pitts belted a grand slam to
key a nine-run fourth and drove in five runs for Fairhope (3-0).
Chase Domino got the win and doubled, tripled and had two RBIs for
the Pirates, while Wes Kent also homered. Brandon Jordan had three
hits and an RBI for the Rams (0-3).

ALMA BRYANT 7, COTTAGE HILL 0: Alma Bryant duo
no-hits Cottage Hill -
Garrett Kirkland and David Hale combined to pitch a no-hitter as
Bryant shut down Cottage Hill 7-0 Wednesday in the Hank Aaron
Classic at Mims Park. Bucky Johnson hit a three-run homer for the
Hurricanes (2-1). SATSUMA 10,
MURPHY 6: Jacob Nobles had two hits, including a home run, and drove
in four runs to lift Satsuma (3-0). Logan Clifton picked up the win
in five innings. Brian Sims had two hits for the Panthers (1-2).
GULF SHORES 8, ROBERTSDALE 7: Brayden
Bateman led off the bottom of the seventh inning with a walk-off
homer after Robertsdale scored a run in the top half of the inning
to tie it. Ryan Hadley (1-0) got the win in relief, allowing one
earned run on four hits over five innings for the Dolphins (1-2),
who won despite committing seven errors.
DAPHNE 10, FOLEY 4: Two Foley errors on the same play allowed three
Daphne runs to score and break open a 3-3 game in the bottom of the
fourth. Dillon Schaniel (1-0) got his first career varsity win,
striking out three and allowing three runs on three hits over four
innings. Kyle Reese added an RBI triple for the Trojans (3-0).
Taylor Wheaton had an RBI double for the Lions (2-1).
MARY MONTGOMERY 9, UMS-WRIGHT 3: Clay McKeough struck out nine in
four innings to get the win and Kevin Carter hit a three-run double
to lead the Vikings (2-1) to the victory. Dustin Evans had two hits
and two RBIs and Daniel McGiboney doubled and drove in two runs for
Mary Montgomery. BAKER 17, THOMASVILLE 4: Trey Barbazon,
Jacob Knowles, Ben Givens and Josh Spicer each had three hits and
drove in three runs for the Hornets (2-1). Winston Mathis earned the
victory, going four innings and striking out three. Logan Bishop led
Thomasville (0-3) with two hits and two RBIs.
THEODORE 9, DAVIDSON 7: Matthew Barber (1-1) pitched two hitless
innings of relief and the Bobcats came up with two runs in the sixth
to beat Davidson. Matt Jackson hit a two-run homer, Brandon Kiser
singled and doubled, and both scored for Theodore (1-2) to break the
7-7 tie. Johnny Gaton hit a three-run homer for the Warriors.
ST. PAUL'S 19, MCGILL-TOOLEN 7: Nathan Morris went 3-for-4 with a
homer, triple, single and eight RBIs to lead the Saints (3-0). Steve
Liolloio got the win. Toby Thomas went 3-for-4 with a double and
three RBIs for McGill. SPANISH FORT 11, BALDWIN COUNTY 4: The Toros (2-1) posted five runs
in the top of the fifth to break it open. Cole Jarman hit a two-run
homer, Zac Fowler had three hits and four RBIs, and Nick Price
allowed one hit in five innings for the win. Jordan Ebert had two
hits and a run for BCHS (1-2).
In Other Games ...
CITRONELLE 3, B.C. RAIN 0: Steven Weaver gave up two hits and struck
out eight in five innings and Arnold Sullivan gave up one hit and
struck out four in two innings in the Wildcats' season-opening
shutout. Chris Law had an RBI single, and Caleb Easterbrook and
Shaun Rivers plated runs with sacrifice flies. Ronnie Abrams had two
of the Red Raiders' three hits. Citronelle visits Clarke County at 4
p.m. Saturday to start the Tombigbee Classic. Rain (0-1) hosts
Blount Friday at 6 p.m. at Trimmier Park.
JACKSON 5-14, ANDALUSIA 0-3: Will Blount (1-0) threw six innings of
1-hit ball in the opener, and J.D. Mitchell drove in three runs on
two hits, including two doubles, in the nightcap of Jackson's
doubleheader sweep on the road. Windham Jackson added two hits in
the opener. Dustyn Moseley (1-0) earned the win in the nightcap,
throwing no-hit ball over three innings. JoJo Jackson added two hits
for Jackson (2-0), which plays Wetumpka at 6 p.m. Friday in the
Demopolis tournament. |
